Additional Information

This November/December 2021 publication is the 166th issue of Cakes & Sugarcraft, an inspirational and informative magazine for anyone who enjoys making and decorating cakes.

Winter is on its way, which means it’s time to deck the halls with baked goodies and festive treats that bring you and your loved ones joy this holiday season. There's lots of festive creations in this BUMPER issue, and we couldn't be more excited for you to get your hands on it.

Elena Wilkinson’s back with a brand new series, where she’ll be preparing sugar flowers of all the colours of the rainbow. Her radiant red arrangement of anemones and roses with winter berries will make a bold statement on any cake and is perfectly matched for this time of year. We’ve also got a marbled wedding cake and a bohemian Christmas centrepiece, both of which include seasonal sugar flowers and foliage.

If you don’t fancy sugar flowers, why not have a go at painting them instead? Cocoa butter painting is a great alternative to sugarcraft; it’s not as fiddly and adds an extra personal touch. Emily Hankins’ lustrous gold cake tutorial explains how to hand-paint pretty poinsettias. And the steps are so simple that you'd be able to use the same techniques to make bite-sized gifts for all your friends and family!

If smaller treats are up your alley, the white winter graze box is definitely for you. Full of everything you need to set the scene, the delightfully decorated cookies and cupcakes would make a lovely homemade gift for someone special. Or if you want something with a little more detailing, take a look at the festive cookie set from Emily Corvers. Using simple royal icing techniques, you'll learn how to decorate four different cookie designs, all with different textures.

There’s also a bunch of wonderful wintertime modelling tutorials in this issue, including layered sugarpaste panels that resemble a snowy village landscape and a selection of cute animal characters that you’d find hanging out in the North Pole.

And don’t forget to bring the festive feeling into your kitchen with some delicious recipes. From homemade Black Forest cake to a spiced Christmas bread wreath, let the aromas fill your house and share a slice with the people you love. It’s the season to be merry, after all!
